I was so excited to spot my Chilean guava covered I was so excited to spot my Chilean guava covered in delicate little flowers a few weeks ago. 🌸
In my mini food forest, it fills the shrub layer tucked beneath the Amelanchier canopy. In the wild, it grows along the woodland edges and forest understory, thriving beneath taller trees where it enjoys dappled shade and sheltered conditions.
Apparently these berries were Queen Victoria's favourite, so I'm very excited to try them later in the season!

The Juneberry has become one of the UK's favourite The Juneberry has become one of the UK's favourite small trees, and it's easy to see why. Delicate spring blossom, delicious berries and beautiful autumn colour... it earns its place on looks alone.
But that's not why I choose it for this garden. It's a daily reminder that gardens can be places of reciprocity, feeding birds, pollinators and people alike.
It's one of the reasons I love food forest-inspired planting. Beauty is important, but so is creating gardens that give back. 🌿

Exploring resilience through materiality and plant Exploring resilience through materiality and planting; Like the corten, the selected plants thrive in exposed or challenging conditions while becoming more characterful with time.

Structural plants such as Saltbush and Italian Bugloss reflect the enduring quality of the corten sculptures, while edible plants such as Goji Berry and Purple Plantain create productive layers and reinforce the idea of the garden as something sustaining rather than purely ornamental.
